Professor Andrew GORDON awarded NIHU International Prize in Japanese Studies

Professor Andrew GORDON, who stayed at Tokyo College from January through July of this year, was awarded the NIHU International Prize in Japanese Studies. 

NIHU (National Institutes for the Humanties) International Prize in Japanese Studies is awarded to researchers based overseas who have shown outstanding achievement in Japan-related scholarship in literature, language, history, ethnology, folklore studies, the environment and other fields related to the human culture studies and have made great contributions to the international development of Japanese studies.

Professor GORDON's broad-ranging research activities, including his outstanding achievements in the study of the history of labor in modern Japan, his wide-ranging endeavors in the study of Japanese modern history, and his devoted involvements in education and public service, were highly applauded (click to read the NIHU news).
