My academic background is in archaeology and heritage studies. At present, my research revolves around exploring the role of cultural heritage in sustainable development and resilience within societies. I am particularly focused on how cultural heritage, which is often framed as an object to be protected for future generations, can contribute to addressing some of the most pressing issues of our times, such as environmental crises, disasters, extreme poverty, and inequalities. I am interested in identifying practical approaches and measures that demonstrate the impact and benefits of cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and social practices that build and sustain communities’ wellbeing and resilience in the face of global challenges.
