国家や市場が個人の親密さや家族的経験をどのように形成しているかを検証する研究に取り組む。このレンズを通して、文化と政治経済との結びつきを理解するとともに、文化がジェンダーやセクシュアリティをめぐる社会的不平等をどのように形成しているのかを理解しようとするものである。
東京カレッジ – プリンストン共同ポストドクトラル・フェローとしての期間中、博士論文「Marriage-Hunting：現代日本における市場、モラル、結婚適性」に基づいた本の原稿の完成を予定している。このプロジェクトは、日本の新しい出会い産業（婚活）を調査するもので、人口減少に歯止めをかけ、経済成長を促進したいという日本政府の特別な関心分野である。
