経済政策の評価・検証を行うことを主な研究課題としている。競争政策と産業政策を対象として、産業組織論の手法を使って、消費者行動や企業戦略をシミュレーションなどして、政策変更における企業行動や消費者行動の変化を予測しつつ、政策のインパクト分析を行う。こうした政策評価・検証手法を立案につなげるための法制度的な分析も行う。
