現在の研究は相互に関連する2つの分野に焦点を当てている。1つ目のデジタル・ディアスポラ研究では日本における外国人移住者に関するもので、デジタル・メディアが移住者の帰属感やナショナル・アイデンティティの解釈や表現をどのように形成しているかに焦点をあてている。２つ目はデジタル・メディア、マイノリティ、アイデンティティに関するもので、社会のグローバル化とデジタル化の文脈におけるクィア、モビリティ、ナショナル・トランスナショナル・アイデンティティの交差性に関心を持っている。
現在主に2つのプロジェクトに取り組んでいる。一つ目は科研費若手研究『差別を自己正当化するメカニズム：在日トランスジェンダー中国人事例を中心に』（2023年～2026年）というもので、クィアな中国人が日本での日常生活のエピソードに関連づけ、場所と場所のないことをどのように概念化するかを探るものである。
2つ目は、『Queering Sino-Japanese migrations: Body, performance, and nationalism』という本のプロジェクトである。本プロジェクトでは、主にクィアのディアスポラ的アイデンティティの構築におけるメディアの役割に関するデジタル民族誌学的研究に基づいて、東アジアの文脈における移動性と接続性に対するクィア ディアスポラの「愛情」についての議論を展開している。
